African Youth: Ways to Avert Climate Change Effects
November 16, 2016, Marrakech
On the sidelines of the United Nations Climate Conference (COP22) in Morocco, the African Institute for Peacebuilding and Conflict Transformation organized a conference in the premises of the Swiss Federation in the civil society green zone, under the theme “African Youth: Ways to Avert Climate Change Effects”.
This conference focused mainly on the role played the Panafrican youth union, being an agency specialized in the field of youth for the African Union (AU), in raising awareness among youth on climate change issues. It was also an opportunity to mobilize and sensitize young Africans, to better understand the climate change phenomenon, so that they share their point of view, propose adaptation solutions and undertake concrete initiatives that will have significant short-, medium- and long-term impacts on the continent.
